Public Relations refers to the accumulated efforts towards professional maintenance of a good public image of a Firm or an individual.
Five work assignments of Public Relations:
1. Writing- Writing favourable articles to uplift the public image, trade paper, advertisements, correspondence, speeches, press releases etc.
2. Editing- effective editing, special pubications, shareholder reports, employee newsletters etc.
3. Media Relations and placement- free-lance writers, being constantly in touch with news media, trade publications with a view to publish news about the Organization, being active and responsive to media queries and requests.
4. Speaking- arranging press conferences and being the spokesperson for the company or individual, addressing queries, effectively handling controversial matters, arranging platforms to promote the company or individual
5. Special events- arranging seminars, conferences, celebrations like birthdays or anniversaries, award programmes support, fund raising events etc.
