I serve as the logistics manager for a consumer goods company. A transition to provide zero paper facilities to switch it to soft copy was introduced last year. Change purpose was positive in order to make the site community friendly. The expiration date was introduced and it was. It was a mistake, so replaced an outdated program.
Below were the reasons why it crashed:-
(i) Employees were not well educated in advance of the transition.
(ii) Education was not given to staff about how to view information on the internet.
(iii) No feedback was obtained from customers on the shop floor, and it was performed in isolation.
To avoid that there are things that should have been done:
(i) The team will consist of participants from any position that will be influenced by the change.
(ii) Input from people at each stage of the transition.
(iii) It will have proper schedule and specific roles, ensuring that the project is finished promptly.
