Sport marketing comes under marketing and is a strategy which promotes a sports event, sports teams and also the product or services through those events and teams.
The marketing can be of a specific physical product, brand name or a service. The aim of this type of marketing strategy is to promote sports and teams and alongside also promote the product, services, businesses, and causes through sporting events or sponsorships.
The four Ps of the general marketing, i.e., Product, Price, Promotion and Place are added to the four Ps of the sports marketing, vis-a-vis Planning, Packaging, Positioning and Perception. The mix of all 8 elements makes the Sports Marketing Mix.
Sports Promotions constitute Sports Marketing which includes Broadcasting, Advertising, Social Media Promotions, Digital Media Promotions, Sale of tickets and public relations

Therefore, sports marketing in US have also gained popularity due to the fact that common man follows his/her idol athlete and therefore the companies get a wider consumer base.
