Gender dysphoria is a condition where a person's physical appearance does not match in line with the gender perception which he/she carries in mind. This is a controversial issue concerning several aspects such as gender roles, family roles, etc. The issue is one that needs to be rectified more on a psychological aspect than on the physical aspect. Reconstruction surgery is one that would satisfy the mind's decision when it breaks the equilibrium and internal system of the body. One aspect to be thought here is that body of the person who has gender dysphoria is normal and does not need any sort of surgery. However, it is his mind that is not accepting the gender role concerning the physical body he has. There could be several factors behind the same such an individual's nurturing method, the surrounding environment in which he grows, etc. It is these external factors that influence his mind so strongly in embracing the body of the opposite sex as compared to the one that he originally has. Several counseling and therapy sessions along with the will power of the individual experiencing gender dysphoria to change are the only ones that can rectify this issue. Surgery at any stage as to bring gender change will always create issues concerning one's physical body functioning and the acceptance of the same by society.
