you have been assigned to a short term team, made up of people you have never met. What can you do to make your first meeting with your new team productive?
Things that can be done to make first meeting with new team productive are :
a. Try to build trust : During the first meeting try to build trust with the team members instead of merely communicating the vision or goals, it is important to communicate your intention, be humble etc so that team can be on similar page.
b. Get to know new team : In the initial meeting manager must break the iceberg and get to know each team member where questions can be asked from both the ends so that members get comfortable working together.
c. Be in learning mode : As a new leader or manager one must not be ignorant while try to tell team that you are still in learning mode like rest of them where you must not have all the answers must together we can grow, it helps to build a feeling of togetherness.
d. Having one on one time : In this manager can set separate one on one time with each of the team member instead of communicating in a meeting setup so that manager can learn whats on the employees mind.
