Answer:- The role and importance of communication media as a part of LAN setup are:-

1) It helps to transfer data significantly faster and saves a lot of time. Especially useful in a location where lots of data are accessed.

2) All the resources like printers, hard disks attached to one server can be shared with the required computers, this helps to reduce cost as there is no need for each computer to purchase a separate resource.

3) Multiple users can access the data files as the data are stored in a single server.

4) LAN allows internal networks to share their thoughts and ideas freely.

b)

Answer:-The two types of communication media to create the LAN are:-

1) Fiber optic cable.

2) Twisted pair cable (UTP)

I will prefer to use Fibre optic cable because it has high data transmission, high bandwidth, and carry signal much further than twisted pair cable.
