What were the most significant difference between World War I experience of the German Americans and the World War II experience of Japanese Americans to the experience of Muslim Americans after September 11??
The most significant difference was
created in the form of perspective associated with the people of
certain communities. After September 11, Muslim Americans are
always viewed and thought with a perspective of suspicion, scope of
relationship with the terrorist with Islamic background and to be
put in enhanced scrutiny for the whole lot of Muslim Americans. It
happened due to the killing of innocent people due to one side
terrorist activity that caused sufferings to the many families and
put a permanent suspicion to these Muslim Americans, though USA
selected their president Mr. Barack Obama who has a Muslim
background. This issue of suspicion is not associated with the
German Americans and Japanese Americans after the world war,
because it was fought between countries and in the battle ground,
and killed each other. So, the animosity towards German Americans
and Japanese Americans were short lived as equal damage were done
by the USA to these countries.
But, the case of September 11, was much different when innocent
people were killed. It brought a permanent change to look at Muslim
Americans with suspicion and doubt.
