How did World War II and/or the Cold War change daily life for average Americans? Sources may include chapters in The American Yawp, the film Zoot Suit Riots.
The most super powers of the world Russia and America were in good hands, America believed in capitalism and Russia believed in communalism, instantly during mid 1940's - 1960's cold War takes place between America and soveit union (ussr) . Chapter - 25 in American yamp written by joseph l locke discusses elaborately, political, economic impacts of the war. Before 1941's American economy becomes deficit, due to 25℅ unemployment, jobless rate increased, bankruptcy was not un common, standard of living becomes poor, 60℅ economy were lowered, before the stock market crash of 1929. but there was large impact on American people and economy during war phase : during war phase production of weapons , and equipments increased. generally employment started to increase. As production rate increase,people got employment, women are started to do men jobs when they participates in fights. Large industries developed,machine guns, armed guns, bombs are developed in large scale. This way American economy and people get developed. In the film zoot suit riots director Luis valdez conveys socio economic changes of zoot suit riots in 1943 and how this expand to war and what did the cause of American economy. During this period people engaged in production of weapons ,this have good impact on economy.
