1. Treaty of Tordesillas- It was a treaty that took place in the year 1494 between the two countries Portugal and Spain. The motive of signing this treaty was the division of all the land present in the America, irrespective of who was already residing on that land. amongst the two countries- Portugal and Spain. The Spanish pope , Pope Alexander VI, at the time of signing the treaty, bifurcated the land by drawing an imaginary line of 2,193 km in the west direction of the Cape Verde islands. Portugal was allocated the land which lied to the east of this line and spain was allotted the land which lied west to this line.

2. The Great Schism- On the day of 16th July 1054, the Patriarch of constantinople Michael Ceruleanlarius was officially excluded from the services of Christian church in Rome. This caused the largest faction of Christianity what we call The Great Schism. It bifurcated chalicedonian Christianity into Eastern orthodox faiths and Roman Catholic. Where Catholism became dominating Christianity with billions of followers, the later one, ie, Eastern Orthodox has only 200 million followers.
