What do you mean by emotions. Explain the characteristic and types of emotions.

Emotion: Emotion in another name for a person's excited state. Emotion is the intense disturbance of the whole person.

• Characteristics of emotions: 

    A) Emotion is a type of feeling that arises due to psychological reasons.  

   B)  Emotions cause tension not spread in one part of a person's body but throughout the body. 

  C) Emotions are universal.

   D) Emotions are motivating or characteristics. 

   E) Emotions are not innate in a person. 

• Types of emotions: 

   A) Love: It is a positive emotion. It is the inner feeling of a person. Happiness, smile and sweet language are seen on the face in this emotion.

   B) Ananda: This is also a positive emotion.

   C) Fear and Anxiety: It is a negative emotion. This makes the person want to run away. In this manifestations like trembling are seen in the person.

   D) Grief and depression: This is an emotion with a sad feeling. It arises when an act goes against the will the person.

  E) Anger: This is a negative emotion.

  F) Jealousy: It is a complex and negative emotions.

   G) Surprise: This is also complex emotion.

It is derived from the Latin word emovere which means to excite.
