Psychology to my future life
- Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour. By mind includes all the mental/cognitive processes such as evaluating a complex problem, critical thinking, creativity, problem solving etc. and by behaviour is the actions and their consequences. In greek origin, psyche means mind and logy means study, so it basically means study of mind.
- I believe in every nuance of life, the concepts of psychology will come to use be the numerous defense mechanisms given by Sigmund Freud. I will take up few to give clarity, eg - Displacement i.e. when someone is frustrated or angry due to something (fight with a boss) and since he couldn't defend himself then, he decides to go back home and break few items at home or use cuss words in front of their family member. Here, the behaviour of this person is displaced. One more example, there is a concept called ABA that is applied behaviour analysis, it is a behaviour modification technique used by behaviour technologist to study changes in the behaviour of a child or an adult. We use the model of ABC which is Antecedent, Behaviour and Consequence to resolve issue of children. According to the ABC Model, every antecedent factor/ cause leads to a behaviour (negative and positive), which will have consequence (Good/bad). Informationabout these concepts will definitely throw bring reflections for your present and future life.
- As a parent , they face such issues right from when their child comes into the world. A required amount of knowledge regarding behavioural issues in the children, childhood disorders, adoloscent issues, etc can make you ready as a parent to take crucial measures for your child. Being unaware will have cause and effect later on.
- Career choice will be impacted positively if one is having best knowledge of different career test, psychometrics and aptitude, interest and personality test so to say. These test require right amount of knowledge and awareness to be done on self. Also, there are other test like DMIT i.e Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test which is based on 9 types of intelligences, now if a student wants to understand hhis inborn potential, his strengths & weaknesses he can give this test. Not just this, but the report that is generated tells you about your left and right brain abilities, a complete brain mapping.
- Personal relationships will definitely be impacted. The concept social relationships or interpersonal relationship surmount to the bond or the way we interact with people, mutual awareness and understanding of one another's identity. Psychology and life is to a lot of extent related and it is a genuine idea that people who study psychology either are good in handling their relationships or poles apart.
- The power of self-acceptance comes with enduring one self, valuing self and increasing our self worth. Self esteem is how much you value yourself , decisions taken by one self and having trust and faith in whatever you do. It is also synonymous to self confidence. Self and personality are two inseparable fratures of an idividual. In psychology, we read about how a positive social interaction can either boost ego and negative interaction can pull down.
ESTJ Personality Type - Extravert, Sensing, Thinking and Judging
In psychology, there is a test named 16 PF (Personality Factors) which entails that every human has a personality type. And so there were different combinations of factors, together forming a personality type. Taking this test will surely give an insight about your individual personality type. Also, there are 5 personality traits that are interlinked with these namely openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism ( Abbreviated as OCEAN).
- Extravert is someone who is outgoing, likes to interact, talk to people, likes partying, is a people's person (to be precise). And so to say there will be higher chance to relate and reflect upon oneself. The way we experience life will change , the way you look at several day to day interactions will be more calculative, it will also better decision making ability. The basic skills to living life will be acknowledged and taken forth.
