what are the different stages of follicle development in the ovary and what happens in each
These follicles events were started from fetus itself. In intrauterine life itself these follicles are produced in the ovaries ( a part of the uterus which produces the ovum ).
Every month a female body ( uterus) is prepares itself to carries a baby like hormones secreted...eggs released & awaited for sperm. So on end of every cycle it will turn into fertilization ( if an egg meets a sperm) or rupture of egg.
What is a follicle?!?!?
Just imagine it is a pack from the ovaries which having the ovum ( egg) in it. The ovaries is actually having so many packs of follicles all produced every month in the ovaries & it does it job ( releasing of ovum) when on right time.
So the first stage is called PRIMORDIAL FOLLICLE where it formed in the fetal life & it almost inactive till the first mensuration ( onset of puberty). Here the ovum is not matured enough & its not ready to be released to get fertilized.
Second stage is called PRIMARY FOLLICLE where the changes happens to the surroundings of the ovum. GRanulosa cells were formed during this stage & size of the ovum is also increased.
Third stage is called VESICULAR FOLLICLE. In thia stage the primary follicles were grown further but not matured fully. Size is further increased here.
Final stage is called GRAAFIAN FOLLICLE which called as matured follicle contains the matured ovum ( ready forvfertilization process).
So on mensuration the graafian follicle is ruptured & the ovum is released into Fallopian tube & tjere it waited for ovulation. If it occurs will turn into ZYGOTE orelse it will ruptures.
