Evaluate and describe the effect that Plato had on Augustine and the origins of Christian theology. What elements of Platonic and Augustinian thought still remain in contemporary Christian religious beliefs (such as the existence of the soul, the afterlife, etc.)? The answer should be at least 200 words
As we know that Plato believed more in a dualistic world and its understandable that whatever Jesus has taught us is far beyond that and if we talk about new teachings, they are quite different and does not completely match old teachings.
Plato came up with up with the original idea of a dualistic world which was somehow originated from the Jesus teachings. But she still loves the idea of the ordered world and new thoughts which can change and exist with the new and changing society as a better way to deal with people and beliefs that might nor harm anyone in any way directly or indirectly.
Plato always believed in the idea of a dualistic world and it was his love for god which made him think about it in a better and specific way. It was his love for god which made him really believed in the idea of a dualistic world.
At the same time, he also believed in the practical examples and ideas which were taken from the existing society and were made for their better.
His teaching made an evolution with the world, yes, he believed in god but at the same time the teachings were mostly inspired by God and were molded in a better and practical way to deal with the running existing society.
The teachings were pretty fast forward but has an origin from Christian literature
