2. Imagine a contractor engages an architect to design a house and the architect engages an engineer to complete the drawing: Does the engineer owe any duty to the contractor? why?
The condition given here would follow a hierarchy system as the engineer comes under the architecture and they both jointly come under the contractor. If the engineering doesn't follow the instructions of the contractor then he will tell the architecture to let the work done by the engineer. But the thing is that the engineer would owe only that duties to the contractor which he had made agreement to do for the architecture. If the task given is beyond the agreement or field of the engineer then the matter is to be solved among the contractor and the architecture. Finally if the drawing is made, it should be upto the interest of the contractor as he is the ultimate one who is in need of the drawing and if he is not satisfied with the drawing their contracts regarding the drawing would be cancelled. So the main conclusion is that the engineer owe some duty to the contractor as he is main boss.
