I am acting as a freight forwarder. The step you will take to move these goods to the consignee in Japan are as follows:

  1. Packaging of the product- As the product need to travel all long along the route so it should be packed properly. The consignee will not be liable for any loss or broken part of the product or consignment.
  2. Labelling the product- There are number of consignments with the same ship, truck etc. so it is very important that the product should be labelled. During the checking of the product it is easy to find out the product.
  3. Selection of Route for the consignment.
  4. Mode of transportation is also chosen by the Freight Forwarder.
  5. Documentation- Documentation of the product also should be done the consigner and the consignee should be aware of the number of consignment delivered and received respectively.

The route and the mode of transportation should be chosen by the freight forwarder so the cost and risk associated with the product is liability of the freight forwarder. He is responsible for the delay in the process. His duties are handling the packages, insurance, documentation and acquirer of getting permission while traveling across borders. The margin which was left is the share of the him so he looks for the economic route and mode of transportation. This helps him to travel less as well as provide the security to the consignment.
