Are You optimistic or pessimistic about the future of the Affortable Care Act (now that the requirement for everyone to have health insurance has been eliminated? Why or why not?
Yes, I am optimistic about the future of Affordable Care Act, because of the following reasons:-
i) It charges taxes from high income group and provides subsidies to lower-income people. This helps in reducing the unequal distribution of wealth and income.
ii) It focuses medicare more on lower and middle income group, which eventually helps them to spend their disposable income an improved food, clothing and shelter etc, thereby increasing the standard of living.
iii) it is also helpful in reducing the healthcare cost. As people receive treatment before emergency arises.
iv) It covers all the chronic diseases, the treatment of which is out of reach of poor people and thus borne by tax payers. This, provides poor people a sense of security.
v) It helps in increasing the life expectancy as regular screenings are done, with more affordable drugs and medicare.
