Heritability is a scientific phenomenon which can be statistically observed as the proportion of the observable cahnge in the phenotypic characteristics of an individual in a population which is due to inheritance pattern of genetics and is not influenced by enviornmental factors.
The value of heritability can be calculated by the following formula:
H2=Vg/Vp wherein Vg is the value of the genotypic variation and Vp is the value of phenotypic variation. The value of heritability can vary from the value of 0 to 1, since the value is 0.1225, there are reduced chances that it will get impacted by natural selection or enviornmental factors. It is a well known fact that a value of heritability which is 0 is open to being affected by enviornmental factors and a value of heritability as 1 indicates that the variation due to genetic differences and not the enviornment is higher.
Hence, the heritability of the trait would not be impacted by enviornmental factors.
