describe how the virus will replicate in your own words. You should include how it will make a new genome and how it will make new proteins/capsomers. Feel free to sketch this out as well.

1/Measles virus

Spherical enveloped virus with helical capsid. Single-stranded, negative-sense, RNA virus.

2/ Epstein-Barr Virus

Enveloped virus with an icosahedral-shaped capsid, containing double-stranded linear DNA.

3/ Norovirus

Naked, icosahedral virus with positive, single-stranded RNA that does not use a reverse transcriptase.

Solutions

Expert Solution

1.Measles virus

When virus enters to the host cell,it hijacks the DNA replication of the host. The measles virus has an envelope of glycoproteins(membrane fusion proteins) which are responsible for the binding of host cells by dissolving its outer layer. Then viral DNA direct the host DNA replication machinery to replicate the viral DNA.

2.Epstein-Barr Virus

Epstein-Barr Virus can infect both B cells and epithelial cells. It can replicate by two means such as inected B cell proliferation or lytic virion production. It stimulates host cell proliferation and relicates within the host cells.

3.  Norovirus

Norovirus replication is cytoplasmic. It is attached to the host receptors for replication.Positive stranded RNA virus transcription is the method of replication.
