your own words, describe how routing tables are used, include their properties and routing protocols.

your own words, describe what multicast processing is. What does the MAC Address look like? Discuss the 2 main methods the switch uses to process these, include thoughts on when you would use the various processing methods.

your own words Discuss in detail why would you want to configure a network using a Virtual Local Area network (VLAN)? What are the potential drawbacks?

The routing table which is prefigured manually falls under static routing.; the entries in the routing table will remain same until and unless they are change manually. Suppose all the machine are in the same subnet and have same IP address then only this will work this hypothesis is derived on the assumption that all the router remain functional. But in real world such type of ideal scenarios are not met that is why Dynamic routing protocols comes into the picture which improvises such situations accordingly and react. Dynamic routing protocols allow routers to get information from other (peer) routers on the network in order to update routing table entries without human intervention.

Please go through the routing tables and ip protocols for routing given below for better understanding.

Multicast Processing:

A multicast quite like broadcast in a way that number of machines in the network is the target, by number of machines I mean specific not all whereas in broadcast all the machines in the network are target. a group of host are targeted by multicast. Based on the choice of the host they can decide whether they want to participate in the multicast group or not. The best example of this is Whatsapp group. but in broadcast irrespective of choice all the users are part of the gropu whether they like it or not.

MAC address is 48 bit address which is unique for every machine and also known as Physical address.

This is how a MAC address looks like.
