Based on the answers given by the applicant the HR manager can judge whether he possess all the required skills to increase the employee engagement. Some of the companies make use of situation based test and ask the applicant to answer the questions quickly based on how would they react to a certain situation. This activity will give a clear picture of what skills the candidate possesses. The company can also ask for professional references and contact them to know more about the candidate and learn how good he is in employee engagement. The HR manager can also ask the candidate to gives examples of him taking part in improving the employee engagement to prove that he is a good fit for the role.
