The education plays an important role in the poverty reduction and sustainability. It is highly relevant and has the potential to equip individuals with skills required to improve their livelihoods, thus holds the power to transform the lives for themselves and their families. An increase in education level would reduce the negative impacts of race, caste & class. In the developing countries like India, government spending on the education is not so high; and consequently they can't reap the benefits from high investments in the education which will reap higher future incomes for the future generations. It causes a virtuous circle of development, wherein less human development contributes to increase in crime rate due to the discrimination in race and class; and leading to further deterioration in human development.
In an article “Civilize Them with a Stick” Mary Crow Dog shares the horrible experiences she experienced while attending the Indian boarding school. The small children were forcefully taken away from their parents’ home for living live at the boarding school. Children were physically abused if they disobeyed them and also abused by her teachers. The racial disparities exist today also in benefits, jobs, wages, and almost every other measure of economic well-being in our society. It is evident from a recent incident in U.S. where the police officer knelt on the neck of a African American George Floyd; and consequently lead to racial disparities.
