A computer technician arrives at work at 8AM and finds a department manager delivering three malfunctioning laptop computers. The computer technician begins to repair the problems as soon as possible. The technician begins on the first computer and does not start the second computer until the first is repaired. The technician works on only one computer at a time. The technician takes a lunch break from 12-1PM.
The first computer is repaired by 10am
The second computer is repaired by 10:30am
The third computer is repaired by 2PM
What is the total process velocity? ?need process)
We have to find out the total time the technician takes from the beginning of repairing the first computer till the repairing of the last computer. Apart from this, we will also analyse the total time taken by the technician in repairing each computer.
The first computer is repaired by 10am:-
Total time taken from the initiating the repair work= 10am-8am = 2 hour
Total time spent in repairing the first computer = 10am-8am = 2 hour
The second computer is repaired by 10:30am:-
Total time taken from the initiating the repair work= 10;30am-8am = 2:5 hour
Total time spent in repairing the first computer = 10:30am-10am = 0.5 hour
The third computer is repaired by 2PM:-
Total time taken from the initiating the repair work= 2pm-8am = 6 hour
Total time spent in repairing the first computer = 2pm-10:30am = 3.5 hour
As there is a break of 1 hour, thus effective time in repairing the third computer = 3.5 hour -1 hour =2.5 hour
The total process velocity= Total time taken from the beginning / total time taken in repairing each computer
The total process velocity = (2+2.5+6)/(2+0.5+2.5)
The total process velocity=10.5/5
The total process velocity=2.1
Answer:- 2.1
