Expert Solution

Robert Cox's main ideas regarding international relations system were influenced by Antonio Gramsci's ideas. His international relation theory is also knows as critical theory of international relations which goes beyond the traditional theory of international relation where power is the main factor in the world order.

His arguments about international relations system went beyond the base-superstructure theory of Marxism.

He believed in creation of a vibrant civil society where there were institutions for representing marginalised group of people, for example, ILO ( International Labor Organisation ). He favored pluralism, multilaterlisms over protectionism.

He emphasised on countering hegemony by powerful countries.

I certainly believe in most of his views about the world order. It is our duty to create an equitable world order where no small country is thretatened by a relatively powerful country. In today's world of protectionism his ideas are even more applicable.
