Has governmental legislation been effective in ensuring public safety and welfare on the Internet?Why?

Answer: In todays ever increasing use of internet whether in social media, getting informed about the happenings in the world or availing various public services via digital medium.

Hence effective Governments legislation playes a key role in ensuring the public safety and welfare of people on internet as:An effective legislation-

1.Ensure the Right to privacy over internet hence protect the public from exploitation of various actors and techniques.Like cyber crime etc.

2.Ensure that spread of ever growing fake news and programs on internet should be curtailed hence people don't get fooled.

3.Ensure the various government policies a d initiatives can be made available to citizens on digital plateforms hence curbing the corruption in the proces and increasing the welfare processes.

4.In this respect EU's GDPR i.e. general data protection rules are very much appreciated and in the interests of the people on general.
