recently there has been much public discussion and some proposed legislation concerning adults who use the internet to prey on children. Sociologist have also studied this problem. How do the goals of sociologists differ from those of journalist or talk show host in looking at this problem? With regard to internet predators, how does the information sociologists use differ from the information journalists and talk show host use?

The goal of a sociologist is an in-depth analysis of the problem with respect to it's impact on the society.The sociologist will study cause of this problem from various perspectives of Sociology , whereas,the goal of a journalist with regard to this topic is create a sensation so that it gains much public attention that will help to increase the rating of the talk show.

Sociologist will use the information regarding internet predators meticulously,as they're not time bound and their goal is not creating a sensation in the public,but by sharing it with other sociologists and also analysing various studies of other sociologists,they analyse the information from every possible angle, whereas, journalists are time bound and hence,they will use the information for an over view so that in minimum time they are able to make up a matter that appeals to the emotions of the people and they manage to make this matter understand their readers in most possible shortest form.Hence,they use the most general form of the information.
