Not all discrimination is prohibited by law. For example, employers routinely discriminate between potential employees based upon education or experience. Other types of discrimination are more subtle, but still legal. For example, some employers discriminate between potential employees based upon personal characteristics such as weight or attractiveness. Should employers be permitted to discriminate based upon attractiveness? Take a side and argue that an employer should or should not be permitted by law to discriminate against persons who are not attractive.
My side would be that employers should be permitted to discriminate based upon attractiveness.
It might sound really bad but the reason I'd agree to the above mentioned is because we observe in our daily life how important "attractiveness" factor is for some companies. Magazines, entertainment industry, clothing industry etc all thrive on the attractiveness of the employees they work with. Also attractiveness may be differently seen from different aspects, industries just can't thrive without attractive employees. Take clothing industries for example, how would they be able to sell their clothes if they don't make them look attractive to normal people (their market), for that alone they hire attractive models. Why would anyone buy a product if they can't even make out if the product is decent or not.
We all spend to look attractive which means there is an industry that provides the ways to make us look attractive and we must accept that it is and lawfully so.
However, I'd support discrimination based on attractiveness as long as it is a company's policy or requirement that their employees look attractive. You can't give justice to an accountant being rejected because he was unattractive and the company didn't have any such policies. Also by attractiveness I mean just attractiveness, attractiveness can be a subject topic but in no way should it be related to any of the illegal and unacceptable factors like color, caste, religion etc and I stand against discrimination based on color, caste, religion as stated in title V||.
