Consider constitutive luck.
Some of you were born with genes that make it easier for you to behave in altruistic ways, and some of you were not.
Some of you were raised in families that were supportive of certain kinds of moral outlooks, and some of you were not.
Is your character that resulted from those features something for which you are responsible?
If it’s not, how is it something with respect to which moral praise and blame can be assessed?
Obviously. both are important factors but it doesn't mean that when someone born with good genes can behave in altruistic ways. to born with good genes is Luck but imagine that. while his child hood time if the family came in to worse situation what will do.so family background is also important. when we have a good family to teach us to do something better for us as well as society then its blessing for us.wherever we born it doesn't matter we have to give contribution ourselve to develop a good character. that is very important. might be my father is doctor but my surrounds and friends are not good then there are two choice 1. i can choose my father way or else i can go for second one .here i have to take a option based on my character. I was same like it I have a good family but in my friends most them are addicted to smoking ,drinking and sometimes drugs.but i didn't leave them when I go to my native i will spend time with them but i never followed their characters. most of them are raised in a good family then why did them came in this situation. that's why I said it in all addition to everything else our own contribution is important to develop our character.so if we have good character nobody wants to ask us to help others we will do that's our social commitment. if we don't care about our parents police will not arrest us. but its our moral duty to protect our parents.so develop a good character and serve a society as well.
