FACTORS TO ATTAIN PROFESSIONAL STATUS

The existing main stream health care occupations are as follows:  

  • nursing assistant
  • Medical assistant
  • Physiotherapist
  • Pharmacist
  • Medical sonographer
  • Dental assistant
  • Lab technician
  • Dental hygenist
  • Health informer

Factors that made these occupations to attain a professional status are:

Organizations- Many of the health care occupations have got their own oganizations which carry out discussions regarding the works they have to do, the methods to follow, the payments they receive etc thereby creating a oneness among themselves and properly line up their duties so as to make sure that none of the patients suffer because of any delay in duties.

Clear roles- There are clear expectations for each team member's functions, responsibilities and accountabilities which optimizes the team's efficiency and often makes it possible for the team to take advantage of a division of labor.   

Codes of conduct- The ethical values , protocols and codes of conduct provides a safe and ethical practise among each and every health care occupations.Rules and regulations acts as a foundation for the level of professionalism.
