List some of the key considerations you should keep in mind when engaging in a directive decision-making process to ensure that you are being fair and consistent in your decision making.
Decision making is a process of making choices by identifying a decision, gathering information and assessing alternatives. By using a step by step process of decision making, we can make a right decision. Following are the key consideration we should keep in mind when engaging a directive decision making process.
1. Identifying the goal-
We have to make clear the nature of decision. This means identifying the purpose of decision i.e what is the problem that is needed to be solved.
2. Gathering information-
It is best to gather the information which h is required to solve the problem and as well as keeping a look into alternatives also. Information can be in any form. This will give us a better understanding of problem.
3. Identifying the alternatives-
After gathering the information, we will identify the possible alternatives. In this step will consider all possible and desirable alternatives.
4. Choose among alternatives and take action-
After identifying the goal, taking all alternatives into consideration now we have to choose one alternative and execute the final decision.
5. Review the decision-
In this final step, consider the result and evaluate whether or not it has resolved or achieved the goal set up in step 1.
If the decision has not met the identified goal, we may have to repeat the step to make correct decision and eventually this ensure that we are being fair and consistent in Decision making.
