Think of a correlational study that you might be interested in conducting. Now imagine you’ve conducted it. In a few sentences describe the data you collected, the hypothetical results (including the correlation coefficient), and a concluding statement about the results of your (hypothetical) study.
I have collected data of such varieties where there are two variables . I won't know is there is any relationship between those 2 variables . So I can apply statistical tool which measure the relationship between those 2 variables which is called as correlation .
But there's is formula for finding correlation coefficient between these 2 variable is given as
r ={xy - mean(x)*mean(y)}/ {sd(x)*sd(y)}
Suppose I get some value of r =c (say)
Where c is lies between -1 to +1
So we can say than accorngly,
If is c is near to 1 there is positive correlation , that is one if one variable is increases the other variable is also increases and vice versa.
If c is very near to zero or equal to zero.then we say that is no relationship between these 2 variables.
If c is near to -1 then we say that there is negative correlation.
That is one variable is increases the other variable is decreases and vice versa .
