Schizophrenia is a type of a mental disorder. This disorder is characterised by abnormal behaviour and failure to deal with or understand reality. Some of the common symptoms that people with schizophrenia face are inability to think straight, hearing voices that others don't, hallucinations, etc. It can be a life-long struggle. It mostly occurs between the ages 16 to 32.
Some of the common behaviors/symptoms include abnormal behaviour, confusion about reality,delusions and hallucinations, absence of facial expressions,poor concentration, etc.
Only 1% of the whole World poulation suffer from schizophrenia. Most cases are seen to begin when people reach adolescence. 1.2% of Americans (3.2 million) have the disorder.
Gray matter is the darker tissue of the brain and spinal cord, consisting mainly of nerve cell bodies and branching dendrites. Brain tissue is made up of gray matter. The density of the gray matter in a person's brain can be co-related to his skills and capabilities.
