1. The Bhagwad Gita is an excerpt from the Mahabharat, it is actually a poem, and a conversation that takes place between Arjun and Krishna before th battle of Kurukshetra takes place.
2. The Mahabharat story line is set on a plot of complications and venomous relationship that the Pandavs and the Kauravs take place, especially with the relationship that Duryodhan and Bhim and Yudhishthira share. The jealousy and will for possession is what drives them towards the inadvertent war.
3. Due to Dhritherastras blindness the throne had to be given to the eldest cousin, that is the Pandavs, Yudhishthira, which leads to jeolousy in Duryodhan.
4. The sons were those gods and dieties who came on earth in human form and engaged in coitus with humans. They were the acknowledged sons of pandu. As pandu had a curse on him by a sage for dying if he made love to any of his wives.
5. The Bhagwad Gita can be interpreted as a dialogue. And the quintessential message that it gives is that know the truth and act accordingly
