Drug addiction has serious effects not only on the individuals but also on the family, friends and society. The drug addiction will affect the individual's physical and mental well being which leads to major problem to their family, friends and in their working places too. This issue will make the addicts away from family and friends and some will lose their jobs and take the help and support from the society.

Effect 1: Friends and Families of drug addicts will face problems as the individual go through health problems like sickness, psychological defects and diseases like HIV/AIDS. Due to which family faces financial problems for the treatment and send the addicts outside without supporting them.

Effect 2: The addicts who are employees in companies will not work properly due to sickness which causes the companies production growth to decrease and it makes them to lose jobs. Most of the drug addicts will be truck drivers, public transport drivers and pilots who steal cash, sell products illegally in order to buy drugs.

Effect 3: The drug addiction leads to environmental pollution as the addicts cultivates the drugs outdoors and the chemicals which they use to make drugs are flammable and dangerous. The improper storage of drugs leads to explosion of labs. The water also gets polluted.

Effect 4: Addiction also effects increase in crime rates. As the addicts make money by robbery, murders and kidnapping to buy drugs. The addicts also involved in accidents, ignoring traffic rules, child abuse and child neglects which leads to crime.

Effect 5: Addiction will effect economy of the state. As the addicts come out from their family there is no one to support them financially so they opt for support from society programs like rehabilitation centers in which government spends lots of money to help drug addicts.

Thus, all these effects will cause major problem to the society. Hence, there is a need to educate people to get rid of drug addiction. It is responsibility of all the citizens to educate about the harmful health effects and effects on society.
