Expert Solution

AN IV BOLUS DELIVERS A SMALL VOLUME OF CONCENTRATED MEDICATION DIRECTLY INTO THE VEIN BY WAY OF AN EXISTING IV OR A SALINE LOCK.

IF THE NURSE GOING TO GIVE ANY INJECTION SHE /HE SHOULD DO THE HAND WASHING.

1.HAND HYGINE IS THE FIRST PRIORITY BEFORE AN PROCEDURE

BEFORE PROCEDURE AND AFTER PROCEDURE HAND WASHING IS MUST .IT IS THE BEST AND EASIEST WAY TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF MICROORGANISMS.SO CLEAN YOUR HANDS BEFORE AND AFTER PROVIDING PATIENT CARE AND DURING ALL OF THE FIVE MOMENTS OF HAND HYGIENE

2.SELECT THE INJECTION PORT OF THE IV TUBING CLOSET TO THE CLIENT

THE INJECTION PORT NIS A MEDICAL DEVICE USED FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF PHYSICIAN APPROVED MEDICINE .IT IS A FLEXIBLE TUBE THATS PLACED INTO A VEIN IN YOUR CHEST.SO IT EASIER TO GIVE IV INJECTION .SO SECONDLY WE SELECT THE INJECTION PORT OF THE IV TUBING CLOSET TO THE CLIENT.

3..CLEAN THE INJECTION PORT WITH AN ANTISEPTIC SWAB

AFTER SELECTION WE CLEAN THE AREA-IT IS THE BEST INFECTION CONTROL PRACTICE .BEFORE STARTING AN INJECTION SESSION,THE NURESE SHOULD DO THE ANTISEPTIC SWAB CLEANING  ,WHENEVER THERE IS ANY BLOOD CONTAMINATION ON THE PORT WE CAN EASILY CLEAN BY THE ANTISEPTIC SWAB .

4..ASPIRATE FOR BLOOD RETURN

ASPIRATION IS MOST COMMONLY PERFORMED DURING AN INJECTION, AND IS  MEANT TO ENSURE THAT THE NEEDLE TIP IS LOCATED AT THE DESIRED SITE ,BEFORE IV BOLUS WE SHOULD CONFIRM THAT THE TIP OF THE CANNULA AT CORRECT POSITION.WHEN THE BLOOD CAME ,IT MEANS THE CANNULA TIP AT THE VEIN .AND ALSO THERE IS ANY PUCTURE AND PHELEBITIS THE BLOOD WILL NOT RETURN.

5.INJECT THE MEDICATION

AFTER ALL STEPS WE INJECT THE MEDICATION .ACCRDING TO THE MEDICATION RIGHTS
