The greatest challenge to traditional religion is the ethical issues brought by science and technology such as birth control, abortion, and the termination of adult life. Birth control has given more sexual freedom to human beings challenging the ethical values of traditional religions. Similarly taking life be it of the fetus or euthanasia, is considered as morally wrong by the traditional religions. The most evident challenge is posed by the science and technological advancements that has given humans much more freedom and more choices in life. As inorder to be a parent it is not necessary that one need a female partner, technology has provided children by the surrogate mother without any sexual intimation. These forms of technological advancements are causing people to have more atheist views, posing threat to the beliefs and values of traditional religion. Moreover, the inventions and discoveries of science had made humans life more easier than before for which they relied on the religion, the fears and dangers for which they took the shelter of religion has been overcome by the science. These changes due to technology is causing shift in religious beliefs, as more and more people are becoming atheist, and are seeking their own comforts and pleasures raising challenges to the moral values and ethics of religion and life.
