State 5 suggestions for promoting safety in your workplace (example: recognition/rewards for safety milestones/performance or related behaviors). Think outside of the box.   1. Different names of award than usual formal award like peacock award, golden award etc. for the best performer like Ironman, superman of the organisation award in order to keep the environment of the organisation more interesting and enthusiastic. It is to be awarded to the person who acted in a brilliant way even in a critical situation.
  2. Conduct yearly contest to come up innovative ideas to improve the safety measures and to understand the views of the employees. It will help the management to get a views of the employees about safety precautions and to identify the best solution if any required. The competition on regular basis will definitely recognise the best idea and also promote the importance of safety among the organisation.
  3. Provide incentives to the employees according to the number of accidents reduced comparing to previous year. Like bonus for increase in production. But provide the incentives according to the contribution made by an individual or a department contribution as a part of the organisation according to the rank on the whole. Maintain a separate notice board in order to display the names of an individual or a department for their contribution. It will helps to promote the concept of safety in the organisation.
  4. Form a club in an organisation with full of volunteers to conduct a research about the accidents happened in other organisations and their reasons in regular interval of time. Arrange for an meeting or gathering of employees (especially the employees who work in plant level) once in two months to explain the same which are found out in the research. Let the employees understand the importance of safety in organisation which have a direct impact in both personnel and work life. If possible make a video presentation than a power point, because visuals will create a better impact than a normal presentation. At the same time it ensure the organisation behaviour to meet the safety requirements
  5. Create a small group with 10 people or reasonable in number and let the safety manager to review the team other an individual performance. Offer a small token of appreciation to the team which has followed the entire rules of safety measures and worked cautiously. It will result into healthy competition to achieve the token of appreciation and promote the importance of safety in the organisation to the next level.
