A two pole induction motor is to be used to drive a very heavy mixer in the cement industry. Three phase rated voltage and frequency in Pakistan is known to be 440 V and 50 Hz respectively. This 100.56 hp machine is essentially a three- phase machine with Y configuration. You have to analyze the behavior of the machine for which one has to know the parameters of the equivalent circuit, they are mentioned below: Xm = 7.2 ohms Prise = 250 W Prew = 0.5 KW X, = 0.17 ohms X> = 0.17 ohms R> = 0.056 ohms Pcore = LL kW R; = 0.075 ohms If the slip of motor is 4 %, by analyzing the equivalent circuit, determine the following values. a) Stator copper losses b) Air gap power c) Amount of power converted from electrical to mechanical d) Load torque e) And the efficiency of the machine working in this scenario.
