Prepare to discuss the definition of the following terms and describe the characteristics, goals, and product of each distinct discipline:Exegesis, Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Historical Theology, Apologetics, Practical Theology. As we know there are theology is divided in five different types which are mentioned below

  1. Biblical- It is the main core of the Church which includes preaching , teaching and other worship practices . It consists of criticism which is higher in nature ,exgenesis process , theme analysis and also it focuses on bible consensus which is of theological nature.
  2. Historical - This is divided into two parts . The first fine is biblical and the second one is Ecclesiatical . This mainly focuses on how the Church has analyzed and interpreted the Bible during the different time periods.
  3. Philosophical- It is linked with natural theology but is more descriptive in nature . It acts as a bridge between secular thought and theology .It analyzes the core conditions which are necessary for theology.Its nature is apologetic.
  4. Systematic- It is the totality of theology and also very modest . Systematic does not imply strict here .It is composed of apologetics and also includes ethics . These two are separated with the help of expedient reason. It has all the elements which are embedded in theology .Its main goal is to analyze in detail the Chritisin faith content and the language associated with church within its rules and norms .
  5. Practical theology- It is a type of theology which belongs to the academic domain .It examines the various religions beliefs and practices and later reflects on them to understand the theological context . It emphasizes on the fact that how the practices which are involved in theology can be changed , moulded or we can say modified .

Exgenesis- The word Exegesis means critical analysis and explanation of a text . The text is mainly a scripture as in case of biblical theology it is Bible.

Apologetics - It is a type of argument which is reasonable in nature and is used to to justify a theory or a religious scripture or saying . Systematic theology uses apologetics to provide the explanations and it is part of philosophical theology .
