Chapter 7 describes four routing metrics used by dynamic routing protocols to calculate their routing. Suggest a new metric or a change in those metrics, aimed at improving the routing calculations . Base your suggestion on two resources from LIRN.

Solutions

Expert Solution

the four routing metrics which are used by dynamic routing protocols are reliability, maximum tranformation unit, bandwith, load, hop count, path cost, delay.

reliability : reliability metrics used to express the quantitative of the product.the option of which metric is depends upon the type of system to which applies and requirements of the application.

bandwidth: it is used to measure the amount of data that can be transfer from one side to other side within the network in aparticular time .bandwidth is calculatein bit rate and measure in bits per second.

hop count is measure of distance between two hosts.A hop count of n means that n network devices separate the source host from the destination host.

Metrics are cost values used by routers to determine the best path to a destination network. Several factors help dynamic routing protocols decide which is the preferred or shortest path to a particular destination
