The chapter 4 in ‘Good to great’ by Jim Collins address ‘the Confront the Brutal Facts’. Jim summarizes on the essential factors for great organizations who succeed due to the succession of good decisions, which are consistent in nature by confronting the reality by having the relevance in the business market. It has been said that the keeping the different and lofty goals does not mean to be away from the ground reality. In the bigger organization, it is not possible to focus on each task rather having the trust worthy environment to fulfill the need. There are some fine ways by which the organization culture can be created such as - it is good to ask questions; healthy debate should be welcomed along with the real participation from every one and arrive on the conclusion; In case of failures it is good to know the reasons without having blame game by focusing on the learning and not to repeat the same mistake in the future; should have ways such as “red flags” for people to raise issues instantly. Among these “brutal facts” which should be faced, it is better to have belief in achieving the final goal by having vision, clarity on the ground reality, having right people and with proper motivation, success can be achieved.
