There are many environment concerns and problems within an area that impacts the air quality and hence makes it difficult to breath properly. The air and toxic fumes from the industries and the increase release of carbon monoxide in the area from vehicles is one of the major concerns that has polluted the air. The gas and chemicals that are released from these industries when inhaled tend to cause inflammation of the airways and the matter tend to irritate the lungs. Most of these fumes contain nitrogen dioxide and blocks the small airways or bronchioles. These gases and chemicals tend to trigger reaction and cause hypersensitivity. The constant exposure to such industrial gases and fumes causes scarring of the lung tissues.

The release of the toxic chemicals and gases from such industrial reactors is one of the topmost causes for causing difficulty in breathing. There are some gases which tend to displace the oxygen content from the blood and hence it causes a limitation in the amount of oxygen that reaches the tissues and various organs of the body. With prolonged exposure to such gases and toxic fumes, it tends to cause number of diseases including lung cancer, bronchitis, asthma etc.

The first step to improve the lung volume and improve the breathing condition is to regularize the way the fumes or industrial gases are released in the environment. There must be strong and stringent rules and a regularized plant which must be able to contain the pollutants released in the environment. Secondly, in order to improve the lung expansion, one must perform breathing exercise which helps in improving the overall respiration process. It should include slow breathing in, expanding the lungs, holding it for few second and releasing. Also, the aim should be to maximize the green plantation in and around the place.
