Q2. What are the 9 steps of Conducting Design Reviews (in the Detail Design and Development phase)?
List and describe these steps. Give an example from a system of your organization.
The 9 steps involved in conducting design review are the following :-
Recently I had the chance to develop a team for performance management system in our organization. I went on with the design review steps and fulfilled the requirement. These are the steps which I did:
1. Collected the detailed information from the management regarding the function of the team. It was concluded the team will do quarterly performance review of various units and submit a ranking to management.
2. Then I estimated the team size the scope of work of various position and the skills required. The training was also considered for the employee. This information was shared with human resource team to allocate suigtable resources for the team.
3. The job description, recruitment forms was sent to management for review. The process mapping and task chart was collected from each unit and detailed layout was prepared along with timeframe, regarding the evaluation process.
4. The evaluation format and key performance indicator was finalized. The targets was assigned and comunicated to respective business units.
5. The cost calculation of new respource and the asset was prepared and shared with management for approval.
6. The potential risk and the value addition was noted down. There was minimum risk as it was not directly related to output and it was majorly a support function. But it was significant to know which business unit was performing better than other. It was a major value addition to the organization.
7. The policy was drafted regarding the timelines of data submission, target setting and minmum evaluation critera. The authorization of evaluation was also mentioned. And it was shared with management for approval.
