Give two examples how emotions can influence moral judgments

Solutions

Expert Solution

When one has negative emotions such as anger, fear, and overwhelming aggression, one might end-up in making wrong moral choices as their emotions will be controlled by their negativity. So, most of the time, moral decisions taken out of negative emotional outburst will have negative impact or outcome. When one makes decisions against one’s enemy, one doesn’t think whether their actions are morally right or wrong, they just do it.

When one is overwhelmed with positive emotions for one’s loved ones, one would make wrong decisions as they would try to safeguard even if the person has done something wrong because blood is thicker than water. For example, when a judge finds one’s brother committing a crime, the judge would by all means would try to save the judge’s brother or they would undergo severe dilemma between law and relationship.
