n this paper, you will compare and contrast pay structures used by two different businesses. For example, you could choose between Apple and Dell, Target and Kohl's, OR Walmart and Meijer’s. The businesses you compare should provide similar products and/or services and be in close proximity, such as the same city or state. Review articles and videos found throughout the course and/or search the Internet to find articles relating to how your two chosen organizations differ or are similar in compensation (wages and benefits). Apple & Dell
Q) How does motivation play in to the type of people working at
both organizations?
Ans- Every firm have various strategy towards motivation of
employee's, which mainly derives from Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
Apple in comparision with Dell, gives more priority to low-order
needs of employee by setting average salary which can ensure
survival, training and safety standards. Apple reward their
executives by providing them a bonus of salary from 3 to 5 percent.
At the highest needs in Maslow’s hierarchy, Apple & Dell
motivate their workers by creating more opportunities for employees
to participate in education and development program. Money is
motivator, Apple and Dell ensures, by providing discounts on
product, paid vacations, disability coverage. The conclusion,
motivation of employee's are important for the success of a
company.
Q) Are organizational strategies being met by the type of
employees? In other words, how is the organizational strategy
working out for both businesses?
Ans- Both the business have common positive strategy in positive
reinforcement(for eg: vacations, company parties). Employee try to
do their best to get rewards. Apple has Generic strategy while Dell
is vice-versa. Apple stands out in the market, they focuses on key
features that differentiate the company and its products from
competitors Dell. Apple has extreme growth strategy, product
development as its main intensive growth than the competitor. Both
Apple and Dell have focuses on market development. Apple offers
unique product to different market segments. Dell was more
effective in reaching various customers through market penetration
and market development. Apple in comparision with Dell never
compromise on the use of latest technology. Apple and Dell both
uses SWOT technology. Dell services can be used through various
medium, but apple services only through Apple Music and icloud.
Apple organisational strategy are at most beneficial stage than
Dell.
Q) What type(s) of employee communication methods are used at
both organizations and is it effective?
Ans- As we know there are various types of communication, most
important Verbal communication, Phone communication, face to face
communication, Writen communication and Body Language
communication. The most important thing in communication is hearing
what isn’t said. Both the organisation uses all the communication
methods. Nowdays, they have developed inhouse softwares which the
employees can use for communication purchase. These chat messenger
app is for the employees and management, all the data and chats are
monitored regularly. this system is easy and avoids barrier of
communication among employee and authority.
Q) How are employees engaged with the organization and how
satisfied do they appear to be?
Ans- Organisation tries to keep the employees engaged through
various ways. The highly engaged workforce means, highly dedicated
emplyee with passion, commitment and loyalty towards company. As
per research says that 87% of employees worldide are not engaged.
In Apple the employee work towards the achievent of organisational
goals as they have stable job with good salary and growth
opportunity. Dell also provide good opportunity but with increase
in competition and involvement of government policies their
employee hiring rate is much higher.
