Please explain as a Quality Engineer or Manager, how would you form a Team, what would you call it, what will their roles be, when would they get a chance to do their responsibilities and how would you enjoy the benefits?

As a Manager or Quality Engineer, team should have some minimum requirements such as:

  1. Understanding of variation introduced by measurement devices: Devices have inherent variability, as does human involvement. An understanding of measurement limitations in accuracy and repeatability is vital to collecting and accurately representing your data.  
  2. Effective usage of data analysis tools (e.g., root cause analysis, Pareto charts, and box and whiskers charts): Your team members need a foundation of basic statistical tools to grow upon.
  3. Problem solving: General intelligence alone is not enough. Involve your team in formal training to learn strategic approaches to problem solving.
  4. Analytical and research skills
  5. Effective interaction with other departments/suppliers
  6. Leadership
  7. Willingness to learn new methods and systems
  8. Sound judgment and decision making
  9. Ability to manage multiple priorities
  10. Teamwork and good communication skills.

Team should be called as "QUALITY FILTERS".

ROLE OF TEAM SHOULD BE:-

  • Understanding customer expectations of and needs from a product.
  • Developing quality control processes.
  • Designing product specifications.
  • Ensuring products are designed with adherence to legal and safety standards.
  • Supervising staff and monitoring production standards.
  • Examining the quality of raw materials that are used in production.
  • Monitoring and evaluating internal production processes.
  • Evaluating final output of products to determine their quality.
  • Rejecting products that fail quality standards.
  • Engaging with customers and gathering product feedback.
  • Producing statistical reports on quality standards.
  • Reporting to upper management on quality standard issues.
  • Evaluating product recalls.
  • Improving production efficiency and managing waste.

They get their chance according to the process of quality checkups and must fulfill their responsibilities.
