I need a 250 word discussion post on the following for my class MAN 3326 Industrial/Organizational Psychology
Mira Smith is the human resources director for a manufacturer of
airline parts in Montreal. The environment of the company is one of
high stress, and Smith realized that she needed to take the steps
to ensure that the stress would not affect the physical and
psychological health of her firm’s employees.
Based on what you have read in Chapter 15 discuss what the outcome
of high levels of stress can be on both the individual and the
organization. If you were Smith, what kind of plan would you set up
to help prevent the effects of stress?

If i were Smith, i should have consider this stressful environment very critically because organisation deals with the employees have critical roles in the organisations as we are dealing in manufacturing of airline parts that could have very adverse impact on the public safety.So, i would have taken the steps to reduce or prevent the effects of stress such as
I would consider the working conditions of employees as per their level of adaptation because every employee has different physical and mental ability to respond the particular working conditions.
I would give an opportunity the employees so that they can participate in developing their work practices and strategies and when introducing any kind of change in organisation.
I would develop the content and strategies that help in understanding the technological requirements and help in organisation of work responsibilities so, that there should be no stress related to managing or handling their job responsibilities.
I would definitely consider the remuneration system and working hours of the employees.
i would ensure that team leaders are not imposing very strict and controlled leadership.
It would be ensured that their work responsibilities are giving them opportunities to make decisions, take initiatives and improve the social relationship.
