Having a diverse workforce at the workplace means when the employees from various backgrounds such as different color, race gender, religion etc works together. In US there are various laws to tackle the issues occurring in the diversity. For an example Equal Employment Opportunity, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The employer cannot discriminate its employees based on their race, gender, age, religion, color, sex, education, physical ability etc.
The employer has to respect the human rights of the individual.
The harassment is also a crime in the organizational settings
Further the federal and State Laws orders employers to offer affirmative actions for those people who have historically exploited. In order to increase their representativeness in the society, employer has to take affirmative action.
The Fair Work Ombudsman provides education and assistance gives education to the employees to beware them about the discrimination.
