1 Yes.The place from where you come from and where you grow up,how much your parents earn,plays a major role in determining where you will end up later in life.if it is a culture of poverty ,poor would be content with economic status because it is the norm.But ,poor demonstrate the ability to move out of poverty when economic opportunities improve.
2 The higher income people should understand that the values and circumstances dont differ if the satisfaction being deferred is equally important to poor and non poor.There is equal opportunity to defer the satisfaction .The poor and non-poor suffer equally from deferment.Probability of obtaining gratification at the end of the defermed period is equal for both groups.if any of these are violated ,then observable differences in behavioural outcomes are due to differences in situations.
3 The most common misconception is that the poor live off government welfare. But the truth is under the rules of public assistance ,people and families recieving assistance are required to work.
4 Median income for a society is the midpoint of all household incomes:middle class considered bunched around the media should be on income ,lower class is under the median and upper class is above median.Occupational prestige is subjective evaluation given to jobs;determined by ratings showing how people percieve the worth of different occupations.Educational attainment :is the total years of formal education ;more years means more likely a person has a higher class status.good indicators because they can be measured,everyone has them,they triangulate.
5 Classism should be outlawed to improve the career chances of talented people from less-priveleged backgrounds.The government should introduce laws to eradicate class discrimination. Thid their chancess can be done by providing support to people to maximise chances by giving support to parents and chldren in the early yeatrs ,support during the school years and creating opportunities to make sure that new chances are created to pull the disadvantaged up into a poition where they are able to fulfill their potential.
