Define Public Speaking and list down the seven steps
for planning, preparing and presenting the speech

Public speaking is the act of performing a speech to a live audience.It is forml or informal,face to face,speaking of single person to a grpoup of person.It can cover a wide variety of different topics.The goal of the public speak may be to educate,entertain or influence the listeners.
Follwing are the steps you must follow to prepare for effecrive speech:
i)Choose your topic:Choose a topic that fits your knowledge and skill level.That way you can spend more time working on How you present instead of worrying about the content of What you present.
ii)Determine Your Purpose:Now that you have decided what your presentation will be about,you need to decide what type of presentation you will give.Do you want to persuade the audience that one way is better than another?Do you want to get reaction from the public or urge them to take action on some issue.Then a public speech is the way to go.
iii)Gather Information:Now this is the time to do some research and gather information abut your topic.The ,ore you know about your topic,the more confident you feel when you are presenting and the easier it will to answer questions.
iv)Outline or Write:Here,prepare what you will actually say in presentation.Some people only use outlines,some use an outlines but write out their introduction and cnclusion,others prefer to write their entire talk.You will need to experiment to determine what works best for you.
v)Select your visual aids:It comes in many forms:actual objects,posters,videos etc.If you are giving a demonstration,you must have at least one visual aid.Remember,no visual aids are allowed for speeches.
vi)Choose a title:The title is your first opportunity to capture the interest of the audience.It should make the audience want to hear your presentation and wonder what it is about.
vii)Practice:No matter how much time you spend on all the other steps in planning a presentation,nothing takes the place of practising.The more you practice,the more comforatable and confident you will be while delivering your speech.
