There are a number of steps I have taken to improve my public speaking skills and to boost my confidence . They are mentioned below.

  • I have started practicing and preparing more than before .I practice in front of the mirror and in front of my friends
  • Before my speech i have started learning about the audience .
  • I have started focusing on organizing my speech and stuff in a well detailed and explained manner .
  • I have started doing meditations and other breathing techniques in order to slow down my breathing and anxiety .
  • I have included jokes and humor in my speech to communicate in a better way to my audience
  • I have taken a public speaking course also to learn about various public speaking techniques and vocabulary
  • I Have learned the importance of hand gestures and facial expressions to make my speech more effective and good.
  • I have started watching public speaking videos on the internet to learn the techniques and to boost my confidence .

I have been able to convert my anxiety to confidence . Once while I was giving a speech in my college I was nervous but then I controlled my thoughts and told myself that you can do it . I programmed my mind in this way only and it helped me deliver a really good speech. I had a full on disaster when words did not come out for two or three minutes . Then I took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts and again motivated myself that you can do it . This way i changed my mindset.
